Stuart Solomon, 79, beloved husband and father, passed away December 15, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. He was the husband of Rosanna (Copeland) Solomon, daughter of the late Jack Copeland and Jennie (Blotsky) Copeland. Stuart was a 43-year resident of Cheshire. Stuart was born April 21, 1932 in the Bronx, N.Y., son of the late Samuel and Lena (Hurwitz) Solomon. He was a 1949 graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and received BA and MA degrees from Brooklyn College in 1953 and 1955 and a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in 1960. He was a retired psychology professor, having taught at the University of Connecticut and (until 1992) at Southern Connecticut State University. Besides his wife of 49 years, Stuart is survived by his daughter Julie Solomon and her husband Adam Rossi, of California. He was predeceased by his brother Gerald. Funeral services were held on Monday, December 19 in Cheshire with burial at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery.
