"Keeper of the Flame" Honorees

Seven Connecticut men were honored with “Keeper of the Flame” awards at a ceremony held on Sunday, Nov. 20 at the Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford.  The award is presented to men who have shown an outstanding commitment to the Brotherhoods and Men’s Clubs of their Conservative synagogues, and are members of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, an international association of men’s clubs in the Conservative/Masorti movement.   The honorees included (left to right): Kenneth Simon, Emanuel Synagogue, West Hartford; Albert Harary, Temple Beth Sholom, Hamden; Thomas Mastronade, Emanuel Synagogue, West Hartford; Dave Diamond, Beth El Temple, West Hartford; David Wolfe, Rodeph Sholom Synagogue, Bridgeport; Barry Goldblatt, Congregation Or Shalom, Orange; Kenneth Wichman, Temple Beth Sholom-B’nai Israel, Manchester.  Photo by Bob Tellar.
