(JNS) Two hotels in Buenos Aires canceled the reservations of former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters and his band over his anti-Israel comments related to Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack.

Waters, who is in South America as part of a global tour, told Buenos Aires-based newspaper Página 12, “They canceled my reservations at the Faena Hotel and the Alvear [Palace] Hotel. We were scheduled at the Faena, and they told us that they were canceling the reservation because the room is being remodeled,” he said.

“At the Alvear, they confirmed a reservation for us for 10 rooms from November 13 to 22 …. and then, later, they also canceled,” he added.

Waters, who is scheduled to perform at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires on Nov. 21 and 22, blamed the “Israel lobby” for the cancellations.

Miami-based online news site Infobae confirmed that the two hotels canceled Waters because of his recent anti-Israel statements.

“Sources close to the Faena Hotel confirmed to Teleshow that [Waters] will not be welcome there due to his controversial statements regarding the attack by the Hamas terrorist group against Israel on October 7,” Infobae reported.

Waters then turned to the Alvear Palace Hotel “and he was once again met with a negative response and a similar justification,” the news site reported.

On the Nov. 1 episode of journalist Glenn Greenwald’s Rumble podcast, “System Update,” Waters suggested that the Hamas attack was an Israeli “false flag operation” and that there was “something fishy” about the Israelis not knowing an attack was being planned.

The 80-year-old musician, who described himself as “an opponent of the whole Zionist exercise” also said Hamas was “absolutely legally and morally bound to resist.”

He said the attack was “thrown out of all proportion by the Israelis making up stories about beheading babies.” Photographs and forensic experts confirmed that babies were beheaded during the Oct. 7 attack, during which 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilians, were murdered by Hamas terrorists.

Waters has a long history of making anti-Israel and antisemitic statements. He faced widespread criticism for Holocaust and anti-Israel imagery at his concerts in June. 

At Mercedes-Benz Arena on May 17, he dressed up in a costume resembling that of an SS officer and pretended to fire a rifle. Waters also compared the murder of Anne Frank in the Holocaust to the accidental killing in Jenin in May 2022 of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.

The U.K.’s Labour and Conservative parties condemned the show, as did the U.S. State Department.
