Children’s Reading Partners is seeking volunteers for its Elementary Express program, which helps Hartford area elementary school students build literacy skills through one-on-one mentoring during the school year. This year, the program will operate in Bloomfield, East Hartford, Hartford, New Britain, and West Hartford from November through May. 

Participation in a volunteer training session is required. Two training sessions will be offered: 

Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in person at the Community Services Building, 333 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, and 

Thursday, Sept. 22, 5 to 6:30 p.m. over Zoom.
