The Emanuel Synagogue and Voices of Hope sponsored a special Shabbaton tribute weekend Oct. 1-3 in honor of Rabbi Philip & Ruth Lazowski and Rabbi David Small & Debbie Chameides. The program included a talk by Rebecca Frankel, author of Into the Forest, which tells the story of the Holocaust experience of Ruth Lazowski’s family. The weekend also featured recognition of Holocaust survivors and entertainment by Hazzan Daniella Risman, who was accompanied by clarinetist Zev Mamlok and accordionist Michael Schiano.
