Moroccan delegation expected in Israel this week

(JNS) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday, Dec. 26, that a delegation from Morocco would travel to Israel this week to advance diplomatic relations between the two countries. Netanyahu said in a video posted on Facebook that he spoke on Friday, Dec. 25, with Morocco’s King Mohammed VI and they agreed that a Moroccan delegation would travel to Israel, adding that among the measures to be discussed were direct flights between the two countries and the establishment of embassies. A diplomatic source speaking on condition of anonymity told Reuters that the timing and composition of the delegation has not been determined yet.

A joint Israeli-American delegation, including the President Trump’s son-in-law Jarod Kushner, met with senior officials in Morocco, including the king, last week, following Morocco’s Dec. 10 decision to normalize relations with the Jewish state.
