Members of Congregation Kol Ami in Cheshire and Beth Sholom B’nai Israel in Manchester turned out in full force on Sunday, May 22 for their shul’s respective Mitzvah Day events. The volunteers worked hard at a variety of activities intended to benefit the community:
In Cheshire, volunteers cleaned up Cheshire Park, brought flowers and visited with the elderly residents of Elm Park, and helped out at Boulder Knoll Farm.
In Manchester, volunteers helped out at a fair and served lunch for clients of the Department of Children and Families; spruced up areas along the Hockanum River; led a sing-along for senior residents of Manchester Manor; and planted flowers in the synagogue’s garden.
