COHN

Robert I. “Bob” Cohn, Pharm.D. 78, of Lake Worth, Fla., formerly of Newington and West Hartford, died unexpectedly, with family and friends by his side while in the Berkshires. He was the beloved husband, for 57 years, of Judy (Birnbaum) Cohn. Born in New Britain, he was the son of Max and Diana (Zigman) Cohn. Bob was a graduate of UConn School of Pharmacy (1963). He was the owner/operator of Besco Drugstore and then Willow Brook Pharmacy in New Britain. Bob and Judy were members of the former B’nai Sholom Synagogue in Newington, where Bob was a former vice president, and current members of B’nai Tikvoh Sholom in Bloomfield and Temple Beth Kodesh in Boynton Beach, Fla. He was a member of Alpha Zeta Omega Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc. Bob was an avid canasta player, loved theater, reading, opera and was blessed with an extraordinary warmth and sense of humor. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle. Besides his wife Judy, he is survived by his daughters, Robin Ebenstein and her husband Douglas, Susan Darmon and her husband Alain, and Pamela Betlow and her husband Mark. He also leaves his four cherished grandchildren, Lisa and Lori Ebenstein, and Jake and Jordyn Betlow; several nieces and nephews; and many many dear friends. He was predeceased by a brother Alan Barry Cohn. Funeral services and shiva took place in West Hartford.
