Musician Joey Weisenberg to perform in Stamford, April 10

STAMFORD – World-renowned musician, singer and composer Joey Weisenberg will visit Stamford on Wednesday evening, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. for a special performance and workshop that focuses on preparing oneself spiritually for the upcoming Passover holiday.

“Az Yashir: A Pre-Pesach Evening of Torah and Song” will be held at Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy (BCHA) at 2186 High Ridge Road in Stamford. Suitable for all ages, the performance and workshop are open to the community at no charge.

The author of Building Singing Communities and The Torah of Music, which won a 2017 National Jewish Book Award, Joey Weisenberg has performed and recorded internationally with dozens of bands in a wide variety of musical styles.

Through his niggunim – spiritual melodies – Weisenberg’s goal is to invigorate Jewish life by empowering communities to unlock their musical and spiritual potential.

“We at Bi-Cultural are so excited for the opportunity to present this one-of-a-kind program,” says Rabbi Tzachi Posner, a middle school Jewish studies teacher at BCHA, who organized the performance. “Our devoted students have been studying and engaging with spiritual Jewish music for months, and this program is an excellent opportunity for them to share those experiences with their friends and family.

“Joey Weisenberg is a rock star in the world of spiritual Jewish music, and we are honored to host him for the evening. This event is truly the perfect way to prepare ourselves spiritually and physically for Pesach,” he adds.

For reservations or more information on Joey Weisenberg’s performance, contact Rabbi Tzachi at tposner@bcds.org.
