HARTFORD – The Hartford Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Carin Buckman as a senior officer in charge of external communications and community engagement at The Hartford Foundation.

A resident of West Hartford, Buckman has held a wide range of positions in both the nonprofit and corporate arenas. Most recently, she served as director of marketing and communications for Leadership Greater Hartford.

In her new role, she will oversee all paid advertising, media relations and community engagement, in support of the Foundation’s strategic goals.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Buckman holds both a Bachelor of Science in marketing and international business from the Wharton School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Arts and Sciences in Spanish and Portuguese.

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is the community foundation for Hartford and 28 surrounding communities.
