Joan Semel, 84, died March 3. She was the widow of Abe Semel. Born in Hartford and raised in Springfield, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Tess Goldberg. She is survived by her children, Glenn Semel, Scott Semel, and Lisa Semel and her fiancée Jonathan Guthart; her daughter-in-law Donna Semel; her brother Jack Goldberg; and her granddaughters, Hillary, Beth and Sarah. She was predeceased by her son Brian Semel; and her sister Barbara “Bobbie” Tamaren.
