Hebrew and Yiddish Classes

The West Hartford Senior Center, 15 Starkel Rd., is introducing classes in Hebrew and Yiddish this month. Both weekly classes will be led by Connie Smilowitz and will be held on Thursday mornings beginning Jan. 12 and ending Feb. 16. For more information and fee schedule call (860) 561-7583.

Hebrew For Beginners (9:30 – 10:30 a.m.) – Build a basic vocabulary, understand the structure and meaning of words, along with fundamentals of grammar.

A Taste of Yiddish (11 a.m. – noon) – Enjoy simple conversation, discussion and stories. Students will learn some basic vocabulary, but focus will be on stories and memories. No Yiddish experience necessary.
