Hebrew Reading Class in Hartford

The Conservative rabbis of the Greater Hartford area are organizing a Hebrew reading class open to all for those without any background in the Hebrew language. The 10-session class will meet on Mondays, 6:30 -7:25 p.m., beginning Dec. 7, at various Conservative synagogues throughout the Greater Hartford area. Its goal is to teach letters and vowel sounds of the Hebrew alphabet and to provide practice in putting those sounds together to form words. Marilyn Krutt will serve as the instructor, using the textbook Aleph Isn’t Tough: An Introduction to Hebrew for Adults.

Cost of the class is $50 (book is an additional $20). Registration is required by Nov. 23. To sign up online, visit: http://www.myshul.org/events/beginners-hebrew-reading/. For more information contact Jeanne Lowrey at (860) 643-9563 ext. 104 or e-mail programming@myshul.org.
