Beth El Relays for Life

On Saturday, June 13, dozens of members of Beth El Synagogue in Woodbury joined in the fight against cancer by walking several hundred laps around the Relay for Life track at Cheshire High School. Inspired by Rob Crumb of Wolcott, who lost his wife to cancer in 2007, the Beth El team raised $1,400 for the American Cancer Society. The team, co-captained by Crumb and Ira Caplan of Cheshire, also included Crumb’s four children. As the day came to a close, Rabbi Eliana Falk led the candle-lit Havdallah service, marking the end of the Sabbath. Pictured here are several tired and happy Beth El Synagogue members after the closing Havdallah service.
