Bible scholar Avivah Zornberg to speak at Scholar in Residence Weekend

NEW HAVEN – Renowned Bible scholar and author Avivah Gottlieb Zornberg will be the featured speaker at the Community Scholar in Residence Weekend co-sponsored by three New Haven area congregations, Friday, May 15 through Sunday, May 17. All events are free. Reservations are not necessary.

 

FRIDAY, MAY 15
Westville Synagogue, 74 West Prospect St., New Haven
7 p.m. – services, followed by dinner ($25/person; (203) 389-9513)
8:30 p.m. – “From Another Shore: Moses and Korah”

SATURDAY, MAY 16
BEKI – Congregation Beth El-Keser Israel, 85 Harrison St., New Haven
9:15 a.m. – Services, followed by Kiddush lunch
1 p.m. – “’And I am a Stranger:’ Becoming Ruth”

SUNDAY, May 17
Congregation B’nai Jacob, 75 Rimmon Rd., Woodbridge
10 a.m. – “’Sing – now! To God!’” Miriam and Moses” ; bagels and coffee will be served. Books available for purchase.
