NEW HAVEN – Lil and Lee Liberman of New Haven will celebrate their 71st wedding anniversary on Feb. 27. Lee, originally from Springfield, Mass., and Lil, from New Haven, met in 1940. Four and a half years later, when Lee was on a weekend from the U.S. Army, they were married.
Lee is retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and Lil from her work as a dental office assistant. They have three daughters, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Libermans are members of Westville Synagogue and the Orchard Street Shul and Lee has dedicated himself to the restoration of this historic synagogue.
They are also members of the Hebrew Free Loan and Burial Association, the Ethnic Heritage Center of New Haven, and the Golan chapter of ARMDI.
