Six contemporary Israeli films, plus a TV show, are scheduled to be screened at the Eighth Annual Ring Family Wesleyan University Israeli Film Festival that will be held on six consecutive Thursdays, beginning Jan. 29 and running through March 5 (schedule follows). Each screening will be followed by a discussion led by an expert, among them a scriptwriter, a film professor, a film director and a film critic. All screenings are at 8 p.m. at Wesleyan’s Goldsmith Family Cinema, Center for Film Studies, 301 Washington Terrace in Middletown. Admission is free and open to the public.

• January 29, “Arab Labor” – season two of this popular TV show, comments by the show’s scriptwriter, Sayed Kashua.
• February 5, “The Wonders” – comments by Scott Higgins, assistant professor of film studies, and chair of film studies at Wesleyan.
• February 12, “Hunting Elephants” – comments by Isaac Zablocki, director of film programs, JCC Manhattan.
• February 19, “The Dove Flyer” – comments by Elisha Russ-Fishbane, assistant professor of religion, Wesleyan.
• February 26, “The Ballad of the Weeping Spring” – comments by Laura Blum, film critic.
• March 5, “Dolphin Boy” – comments by David Fisher, film director and Center for Jewish Studies visiting professor
