Samuel Goodman, 96, of Manchester, died Jan. 8. He was the widower of Shirley (Friman) Goodman. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived most of his life in Springfield and South Windsor. He served in the U.S.Army during World War II, in the Pacific theater. He was a former member of Kodimoh Synagogue. He is survived by his daughters, Laraine Goodman of New York, N.Y. and Iris Creem of S.Windsor; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Schutzbank and Sarah (John) Regehr; his great-grandchildren, Tommy, Jonas, Isaac, Henry and Jamie; and his special friend Helene Berson.
