The Jewish Family Services of Greenwich (JFS) First Annual Supermarketing for Seniors Celebrates Grandparents Day event held on Sunday, Sept. 7 was a huge success. In partnership with neighborhood supermarkets — including A&P, Kings, Stop & Shop, and Whole Foods — and The Senior Center of Greenwich, JFS Board members, members of the Generation to Generation Club of Greenwich High School and the JCC Greenwich Teen Action Committee were stationed across the community raising awareness and funding for the Supermarketing for Seniors program, a nondenominational free grocery shopping and case management service designed to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of housebound Greenwich citizens age 60 and older. At The Senior Center, Selectman David Theis presented a proclamation from the Town of Greenwich to JFS Board President Pam Liflander, lauding JFS for this vital community program.
