Irene F. Figarsky, 86 ¾, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in Norwichtown. Irene was born in Greenville August 15, 1927 to the late Louis and Molly (Levine) Sadernsky. She was a proud graduate of N.F.A. and remained an active alum. On Sept. 11, 1949 she married her beloved husband Abraham A. Figarsky who survives her. Together they settled and raised their family in Norwichtown. Irene was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a life member of Hadassah and an author. Her ripple in the village was vast and her accomplishments too numerous to list. Irene is survived by her loving husband Abraham, children: David A. Figarsky and wife Karen Armstrong, Deborah R. Figarsky and life partner Philip M. Small, Philip E. Figarsky and wife Deborah Kudej Figarsky, sister Mildred Goldstein and husband Donald; grandchildren: Adam Louis Figarsky and wife Elizabeth, Kim Bucko and husband Aaron, Kenn Armstrong III, Sara Figarsky Morrison and Paul Maracic, Ezra Figarsky Morrison, Ilana Figarsky Morrison and Nicholas Simmons, Anna Figarsky Morrison, Andrew Small, Rebecca Small and Seth Fink, Jennifer Small, Jessica Festa, David Festa and wife Karen, Courtney Figarsky and Richard House, Benjamin Figarsky, great-grandchildren: Jack Abraham Figarsky, Avery, Jack and Evan Bucko, Isabella and Emilia Festa, Brayden House and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Isadore and Nathan Sadernsky. The family gratefully thanks the doctors, nurses and staff at L&M 3ICU who are among the greatest in their profession. Funeral services were held on May 6 in Norwich with burial at Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery in Preston, CT.
