Israeli Air Force strikes targets on Syria-Lebanon border

(JNS.org) The Israeli Air Force bombed two targets in the Syria-Lebanon border region on Monday night, according to Lebanese media reports. “We heard warplanes followed by explosions, it could be along the border with Syria,” Jaafar al-Musawi, head of the Al-Nabi Shayth municipality, told Lebanon’s Al-Jadeed TV network. Various reports suggested that the targets of the airstrike could have been Hezbollah weapons storage facilities, a Hezbollah rocket base, or an arms convoy traversing the Syria-Lebanon border. Israel has repeatedly warned that it would act to thwart the transfer of advanced weaponry from Syria to Hezbollah in Lebanon, but has never officially confirmed several strikes that it has reportedly carried out inside Syria to halt such transfers.
