NEW HAVEN — Lil and Lee Liberman of New Haven will celebrate their 70th anniversary on Feb. 27.

After a four-year courtship that began in the summer of 1940, the Libermans were married when Lee was on a weekend leave from the U.S. Army. Today, Lee is a retiree of Metropolitan Life Insurance, and Lil previously worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Leon Horton and Dr. Richard Jacobs.

The Libermans are active members of the Orchard Street Shul in New Haven, where Lee serves as president, as well as the Hebrew Free Loan and Burial Association, the Ethnic Heritage Center of New Haven, and the Golan Chapter of ARMDI.

The Libermans will celebrate their milestone the end of March, surrounded by family and friends, including their daughters, Anita Silver, Kathi Liberman, Laurie and Benny Becker; and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brian and Becky Silver and their children Libby and Matthew, Maggie Becker, Tim Becker, and Jennifer and Joe Cavey and their sons Ryan and Will.
