BY THE NUMBERS — Sorry. Not.

(Israel Hayom/Exclusive to JNS.org) Just before President Obama boarded Air Force One to return home after a visit to Israel last March, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu telephoned Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayypi Erdogan and aplogized for the infamous May 2010 Gaza flotilla incident.  How did Israelis feel about that?  Not good, according to a June 2013 poll commissioned by the Begin-Sadat Centre for strategic Studies.

71% of Israelis believe Netanyahu’s apology to Erdogan was unjustified

85% say their chances of going on vacation to Turkey in the near future are very low.

28% believe that relations between Israel and Turkey under Erdogan will improve in the near future,

42% think relations will stay the same

30% believe relations will deteriorate further.
