Teens from Judah BBYO of Greenwich prepared – then delivered — meals for area seniors.

Teen members of BBYO’s Connecticut chapters were busy helping their communities throughout November and December. Some examples: Judah BBYO of Greenwich – Connecticut’s newest chapter — prepared meals at Temple Sholom and then delivered them to seniors living at McKinney Terrace; Exodus AZA of Woodbridge volunteered at the Kosher Food Pantry in Woodbridge, helping to sort and stock shelves; Rabbi Albert Martin, BBG volunteered with the Connecticut Special Olympics at a bowling event in Milford; Genesis BBYO of Newtown collected gifts for a Toys for Tots drive. BBYO teens from all across the state celebrated the first night of Chanukah together, collecting close to 400 pairs of hats and gloves for children and families affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Prior to these events, six teens from the Connecticut Valley Region chapters joined a delegation of BBYO teens from all across the United States who travelled to Washington, D.C. at the end of October to participate in the annual Schusterman Advocacy Institute High School Summit hosted by AIPAC. The goal of the Summit was to equip Jewish teens with lobbying skills and on-the-ground lobbying experience.
