A Jewish Journey to Russia planned for summer 2013

The Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford is planning a 10-day “Jewish Journey Tour Through Russia” that will leave on July 21, 2013 and return– August 1, 2013.
The trip will be led by Trinity College history professor, Dr. Samuel Kassow. The author of several books, Kassow holds a PhD from Princeton University and has taught in Russia, Poland, Israel, Lithuania and Mexico. The child of Holocaust survivors, Kassow was born in a displaced persons camp in Germany.
The trip will include four nights in Moscow, four nights in St. Petersburg and two nights in Kiev.
In addition to lectures by Dr. Kassow, trip highlights include: a tour of the Great Choral Synagogue, a river cruise on the canals, the Hermitage Museum, Catherin’s Palace, the Kremlin and Red Square, and much more.
