NEW YORK, N.Y. – Daniel Loew, head of school of the Hebrew High School of New England in West Hartford, was one of 24 participants selected for “YU Lead,” a new, highly experiential leadership development program for aspiring leaders in Jewish education launched by Yeshiva University’s Institute for University-School Partnership (YU School Partnership). Loew was selected from a competitive applicant pool of teachers, division principals, student support faculty, curriculum coordinators and student activity directors.
YU Lead participants will spend nine months immersing themselves in the study of leadership as they learn online with experts in the field of education and a cohort of their peers. Sessions will address topics on leadership, mission, vision, philosophy, budgeting and finance, instructional supervision, development, governance, distributive leadership, 21st-century education, parents and communication, and enrollment management.
“YU Lead is a direct result of the expressed needs of the field as we have heard from leaders in our Jewish day schools,” said Jane Taubenfeld Cohen, director of capacity building at YU School Partnership. “We are excited to meet those needs by connecting well-respected leaders to new and aspiring professionals.”
“YU Lead will afford all the participants extraordinary opportunities to network with other educators and experts to share ideas, receive feedback, discuss challenges, and perhaps most importantly, think creatively about the future of Jewish leadership in the
21st-century,” said Dr. Scott Goldberg, director of the YU School Partnership
Participants will also have access to professional networking opportunities.
