Jewish Women’s International installs officers

Barbara Berns of West Hartford was installed as president of the Hartford chapter of Jewish Women International (JWI) at the organization’s High Tea and Petite Luncheon held on Wednesday, June 20 at the Mandell Jewish Community Center in West Hartford.  In addition to Berns, other officers installed at the luncheon included Lillian Miller and Myrna Blum as vice presidents; Andrea Labinger as treasurer, Kayleen Goldstein as financial secretary, Norma Bursack as recording secretary, Joan Bortman as corresponding secretary, Sandra Robbin as secretary to the board, Faye Sklar in charge of fundraising, Sheila Cohen in charge of communication, Leonora Rosenblum as counselor.
Formerly known as B’nai B’rith Women, JWI’s mission includes ending violence against women, creating a future for women and children at risk, and empowering women everywhere. The 60-year old group continues to support the Jerusalem Hills Children’s Home in Israel.
