Charlotte C. Teitelman, 99, of Woodbridge/New Haven, CT, died May 27 in her 100th year. She was predeceased by her husband Max L. Teitelman. Born in Holyoke, Mass. she was the daughter of the late Harry and Martha Cohen. Charlotte grew up in Holyoke and Springfield Mass. After graduating from Springfield Commercial High School in 1942, she went to work for the U.S. Government during WWII and for the next 17 years. She met Max and married him on February 15, 1959. While raising her family in New Haven, CT, Charlotte became very active in many different volunteer activities including the PTA and BEKI’s sisterhood. In that role, she ran BEKI’s gift shop and was named their Woman of Valor in 1990. After Max retired, they moved to Delray Beach, Florida.
After Max passed, Charlotte moved back to New Haven where she continued to be very active in volunteer activities, including being named New Haven Volunteer of the Year in 2014. She loved talking to people and she put those skills to good use as a greeter at Tower One. She also loved playing games such as Mah Jong and Rummy Cube. Charlotte is survived by her son, David B. Teitelman (Pamela), daughter Beth Morales (Ruben), grandchildren Ruben Jr., Joshua, Sarah and Andrew, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Billy Cohen.
