David Chatzky, 55, of Canton, GA, originally of Manchester, CT, died during the week of June 3, 2024. He was the son of the late Herbert and the late Sally Chatzky. He is survived by his sisters, Lisa O’Brien of South Windsor, CT, and Christine Selby Regan of Merritt Island, FL; his nieces, Samantha Coolman of Chinquapin, NC, and Danielle Jauz of Altamonte Springs, FL;  his nephew, Jordan Tetro of Bethlehem, PA; his aunt and uncle, Debbie and Joseph Karp of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and his cousins Jon, Ben, Lori, and Eric. He was also predeceased by his sister, Jenn Mucci of Belfast, ME, just two weeks prior to his passing, and by his nephew, Seth Tetro. He earned his master’s degree in Academic Advising and Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). He served in the army national guard and managed a Sears portrait studio before embarking on a successful basketball coaching and refereeing career. He coached basketball at Wentworth Institute of Technology and Bay Path College and was involved in coaching scholastic and collegiate basketball teams in the US and Europe including ABL, NWBL, USBL and CBA teams.He adored his dogs, who will be cared for by his niece Samantha and her family.
