TENDLER

Ann Carol Tendler, 92, of Hamden, CT, died Jan. 27. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Tendler. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Sayde (Cominsky) Sydney. She graduated Hillhouse at 16, attended UCONN before transferring to CT Teachers College (now known as SCSU). She taught elementary school in New Haven CT before moving her family to Bethany, CT, where she taught at the Bethany Community school for over 20 years. After retiring, she worked at Starter in New Haven for a few years. She then settled into retirement. She enjoyed playing Mahjong, Scrabble and Bridge on a regular basis with a great group of friends. She loved reading a good book, a nice restaurant meal with friends, and she looked forward to family gatherings.
Her philosophy of life was “I just want everyone to be happy.” She is survived by her sons, David (Lynn) Tendler of Clinton , CT, and Mark Tendler of Middletown, CT; her grandchildren, Michael Tendler of Clinton, Eric Tendler of Fountain Valley, CA, Janelle Gorecki of Higganum and Kristin Bertier of Branford; and her great-grandchildren, Mason and Brooklyn Bertier of Branford.
