Evelyn Judith (Gruntwagin) Jacobson, 98, of Stamford, CT., died March 19. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the wife of the late Sandford Jacobson. She was the daughter of Harry and Ida (Portnoi) Gruntwagin. She grew up in Brooklyn and Queens and attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later in life received a master’s in early childhood education from Bank Street College of Education in New York City. Her professional life was devoted to working with emotionally disturbed children. She married Sandford Jacobson in 1950 and raised her family in Stamford, CT. She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Jacobson Starkweather, Ellen Jacobson (Daniel Ehrenberg) and Carla Jacobson Kiel (Larry Kiel), six grandchildren: Andrew, Noah (Pam), Hyla, Aaron, Rachel and Joshua and one great-child, Asher. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Blaine Starkweather.
