Betty (Beatrice) Szlajen of Longmeadow, Mass., died March 17. She was the widow of Isaac Szlajen. Born in Banes, Cuba, she was the daughter of Isidoro and Lucia Assa. She is survived a son, Mark and his wife Michelle; a daughter, Jeanette and her husband Barry Fritz; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Abigale, Sam, and Jake; a brother Jose and his wife Josefina; a sister-in-law, Susan; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend Joseph Singer.
