Allan Merriam, 78, of Ludlow, Mass., formerly of Springfield, Mass., died Sept. 12. He was the husband of Fredi Merriam. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Sara and Samuel Merriam. He served in the United States Army. He was a longtime member of Beth Israel Synagogue in Longmeadow, Mass. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeremy and Becky; his daughter-in-law, Tina; and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
