Philip S. Handler, 80, of West Hartford died August 17. He was the widower of Madeline (Gell) Handler. Born in Hartford, he was the son of Morris and Esther (Saltzman) Handler, and the brother of William Handler and Lori Levi. He was a long-time member of The Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford. He is survived by his children, Michael Handler and his wife Susan of Seattle, Wash., and Alyssa Handler and her husband Amato Bocchino of Beverly, Mass.; and his grandchildren, Eli Handler, Sadie Handler, Evan Bocchino, and Arianna Bocchino.
