Joseph Seymour “Sy” Kaplan, 83, of Hamden, died Feb. 3. He was the husband of Eta (Popick) Kaplan. He was born in Brooklyn, In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Robyn Buchter and Michelle Krupel and her husband Jeffrey; his brothers, Herbert Kaplan and Harold Mazurek; and his grandson Seth Krupel. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Robert Buchter, and his brother David Bernie Kaplan.
