The Israel Philharmonic will hold a Pre-Hanukkah Global Celebration on Sunday, December 6, at 2 p.m., to bring holiday light to audiences around the world in an uplifting program centered on the Israel Philharmonic, and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer, a close friend of the orchestra. A multi-disciplinary program of instrumental performances, behind-the-scenes interviews, and powerful songs and messages of hope, the program will be available to stream internationally, free of charge.
Produced by the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic and the Israel Philharmonic Foundation, the one-of-a-kind virtual event, features:
- Original, in-depth interviews with Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer and the Israel Philharmonic’s new Music Director Lahav Shani
- The world premiere performance of a custom arrangement of “Time,” from Inception, and selections from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, played by Israel Philharmonic Music Director Lahav Shani and members of the Israel Philharmonic.
- Message from Grammy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Bette Midler.
- The Lion King medley from the “World of Hans Zimmer” tour.
- Special collaborative rendition of “When You Believe” from The Prince of Egypt with actress and star of Fauda, Ronalee Shimon, and the Voca Tikva choir.
