How to Talk to Kids and Teens about Hate, Nov. 10

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, 7 – 8 p.m., JTConnect and the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford will host a Zoom panel discussion on how to discuss the subject of hate – and how to combat it – with teens.

Conversations about antisemitism, racism, injustice, and discrimination are taking place everywhere – on the news, in schools, at the dinner table. Our kids are noticing and are starting to ask us difficult questions. How do we empower our children to stand up for themselves and their friends? Join a panel of parents and experts who will discuss how to have these difficult yet crucial conversations

Moderated by Rebecca Lewis, a West Hartford teacher and diversity training specialist, panelists will include WNyaunu Stevens, director of programs, National Conference for Community and Justice; Jocelyn Carmen Tamborello-Noble, world language supervisor, West Hartford public schools; Eric Maurer, executive director, JTConnect.
