Harold Jay Moffie, 92, of Bloomfield, died Sept. 3. He was the husband of Selma Moffie. Born in Brookline, Mass., he was the son of the late Saul E. Moffie and Ruth D. Epstein. He served in the U.S. Army and served in the infantry in the counter-intelligence section. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He was instrumental in the development of The Chabad House of Greater Hartford. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Calvin Moffie and his wife Patricia, Clint Moffie, Celia Bedus and her husband Michael,  Carrie Riccio and her husband John, and Cathy DeMio and her husband Richard; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
