Seymour M Kaplan, 100, of West Hartford, died July 5. He was the husband of Rhoda (Elansky) Kaplan. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late David and Mollie (Saposnick) Kaplan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and received a Bronze Star. He was a longtime member of The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Leonard M. Kaplan of West Hartford. He was also predeceased by his five sisters and four brothers.
