The Growth of the Jewish population of Russia is up for discussion May 17

Genealogist Joel Spector will discuss “The Growth of the Jewish Population in Russia Through the 1897 All-Russia Census,” via webinar on Sunday, May 17, at 1:30 p.m. Hosted by the Jewish Genealogical Society of CT, Spector, who is president of Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Philadelphia where he has served as chairperson of its Russian Special Interest Group, will discuss patterns of Jewish population growth in Russia beginning with early historical data, the creation and changing designations of the Russian gubernias, Russian laws affecting Jews in the Pale of Jewish Settlement and more.
