West Hartford woman on the front line

Talya Markus, a fifth-year medical student at Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, is among a group of Israeli med students who are volunteering to man the drive-through COVID-19 testing site set up by Magen David Adom in Teddy Kollek Stadium.

The daughter of Anat and Eitan Markus of Mansfield, Talya grew up in Manchester and West Hartford. She is a graduate of the Bess and Paul Hebrew Academy of Greater Hartford (now part of West Hartford’s New England Hebrew Academy) and William Hall High School in West Hartford.

If those of you who know Talya don’t recognize her (we can’t imagine why!), Talya is standing second from the left.

Kol hakavod, Talya!
