Traveling Purim treats!

It’s become a Purim tradition! For the past three years, students at the New England Jewish Academy (NEJA) in West Hartford have spread the joy of Purim by sponsor mishloach manot – Purim baskets filled with treats – to a NEJA graduate and his/her unit serving in the IDF. This year, the school sent mishloach manot packages to the entire unit of 2018 NEJA alum Kobi Zehavi (Zehavi attended NEJA when it was Hebrew High School of New England). The NEJA project is in partnership with Connections Israel, a not-for-profit organization that provides educational hands-on projects that enable participants connect to Israel and develop a keener understanding of the challenges faced by IDF soldiers and the plight of terror victims.

”Thank you so much for the mishloachei manot!” Kobi wrote to students. “My unit and I really appreciate it! Hope you have a happy Purim!”
