HIMMELFARB

Charles Himmelfarb, 90, formerly of West Hartford and Newington, died Nov. 29. He was the husband of Susan Austin of Newington and the widower of Marlene (Putterman) Himmelfarb. He was a member of Temple Sinai in Newington. He was the son of Esther (Spivak) and Alex Himmelfarb. He served in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his son Steven Himmelfarb and his wife Jackie of Bethel; his granddaughter, Jenna Himmelfarb, of Bethel; his son Billy Himmelfarb of Rocky Hill; his son Burt Himmelfarb and his wife Christine of Rocky Hill; his brother Harvey Putterman and his wife Karen of Port Townsend, Wash.; his sisters-in-law Joy Himmelfarb of Simsbury, and Kim Himmelfarb of Sarasota, Fla.; his nephews, Edward, Stephen and Alan Swartz, and Peter and David Himmelfarb; his step-children and grandchildren; and many cousins. He was also predeceased by his sister Marilyn Swartz and her husband Charles, and his brother Saul Himmelfarb.
