Steven J. Gladstone of Avon died Nov. 12, after a long battle with brain cancer. He sas the husband of 32 years of Susan Lieb. Raised in Great Neck, N.Y., he was the son of Ann Gladstone of Boca Raton, Fla., and the late Arthur Galdstone. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Joshua Gladstone of Kent, Rachel Gladstone of New York, N.Y.; his mother Ann Gladstone of Boca Raton, Fla.; his brother Michael Gladstone and his wife Patti Stoll of Newton, Mass.; his niece Samantha Johnson; and his nephew Gabriel Gladstone; and many friends and cousins. He was raised in Great Neck, N.Y., and graduated from Great Neck North High School (‘77), Emory Univ. (’81) and Pepperdine Law School (’84). He practiced insurance law at D’Amato & Lynch (in New York City) before moving his family to Avon in 1990. He worked at Executive Risk until 1999, when he and his associates joined XL Insurance (now AXA XL). He remained as a senior executive at AXA XL until his death.
