Ruth (Karp) Sloate, 94, of West Hartford, died Oct. 23. She was the daughter of the late Aaron and Hilda (Platt) Karp. She is survived by her children, Steven Sloate and his wife Georgianna of Bristol, Mark Sloate and his wife Meryl of South Windsor, and Ellen Gonzalez of Plainville; her grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley Sloate, Jeremy and Jennifer Sloate, Heather Sloate, Andrew and Caryn Sloate and Heidi and Dave Fortier; and her great-grandchildren, Garrett Fortier and Emelia Sloate.
