Irving I. Rosenthal M.D., 88, of Simsbury, formerly of West Hartford and Avon, died August 20. He was the husband of Shirley (Zarchen) Rosenthal. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Pauline (Goldenberg) Rosenthal. He served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Stephen Rosenthal of Needham, Mass., Stuart Rosenthal and his wife Selma of Fayetteville, N.Y.. and Daniel Rosenthal-Baxter and his husband Lawrence P. Baxter of West Hartford; his brother Joseph A. Rosenthal and his wife Joan, of Willmington, Del; his grandchildren, Eric, Gregory, Amelia, Abby, Andrew, and Rebecca; and several nieces and a nephew.
