Norman Silver Shemitz, 92, of Woodbridge and Guilford, died April 5. He was the widower of Mary Zala Shemitz. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Tesse and Murray Shemitz. He is survived by his children Jon and his partner Tane Tachyon, Ellen and her partner Gilles Martin, and Leigh and her husband Chris Winters; his grandchildren, Sam, Arthur, Peggy, Roger, Matthew, Adam, Dylan and Autumn; his daughter-in-law Flora Winitz; his sister-in-law Linne Zala; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Peter Shemitz and his sister, Nancy Baratz.
