Frederick (Rick) J. Kaplan, 70, of West Hartford, died Sept. 27. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late George and Miriam (Krauskopf) Kaplan. He served in the National Guard. He is survived by his daughter Amy Rowan Sach and her husband David of Arlington, Mass.; his brother Ben D. Kaplan and his wife Annie of Guilford; his sister Sara Collis and her husband Jeremy of Wimbledon, England; and a niece and nephew.
