GREENBERG

Jacob “Jack” Greenberg, 99, died February 16, 2018. He was born and lived his whole life in New Haven. A graduate of Hillhouse High School, he was employed at Armstrong Tire Company, the United States Post Office and, for many years, at Winchester’s Gun Manufacturing Company. He served in the the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed ice skating, bowling, and especially golf, which he played well into his nineties. He volunteered for many years at West Haven Veteran’s Hospital showing weekly movies. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma (Krinsky) Greenberg of almost 55 years. He leaves three children, Rosalynn (Greenberg) Gordon and her husband Israel I. of Simsbury, Janet Greenberg of Hamden, and Allan Greenberg and his wife Joan of Wallingford; five grandchildren, Sarah (Gordon) Pahl and her husband Joseph of Christiansburg, Virginia, Frederick Gordon and his wife Kealy of Washington, District of Columbia, Benjamin Gordon of Farmington, Zachary Greenberg of Tel Aviv, Israel, Samuel Greenberg of Wallingford; and his only great-grandchild, Audrey Gordon of Washington, District of Columbia.
