Alice Eisenberg (nee Alpert), 89, of West Hartford, formerly of South Windsor, passed away on Saturday, March 24, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Marvin Eisenberg for 66 years and loving mother of Susan Schmidt (Azriel) of Bryn Mawr, Penn.; Deborah Eisenberg (Wallace Cohen) of Hartford; Steven Eisenberg (Beth) of Glastonbury; and Judith Rosenfield (Howard) of Farmington, she leaves nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves beloved nieces and nephews. Daughter of Yetta and Morris Alpert of New Haven, she was predeceased by her sister Florence Broitman. Alice was a graduate of Hillhouse High School in New Haven, Beth Israel School of Nursing in New York City, and Eastern Connecticut State University. Prior to residing at Hoffman-Summerwood, Alice was a long-time resident of South Windsor where she and her husband were founding members of Temple Beth Hillel. She was a member of the Sisterhood of Temple Beth Hillel, a lifetime member of Hadassah and was active with South Windsor Friends of the Library. A psychiatric nurse, she was employed by UConn for many years at the Capitol Region Mental Health Center in Hartford before her retirement in 1990. During her retirement years, she and Marvin enjoyed spending winters in Delray Beach, Fla.
